Campbells team advises Abra Group on $1.25B refinancing

Campbells advised on the Cayman Islands legal aspects of two private refinancing transactions for up to $1.25 billion in total.

Campbells LLP is pleased to have advised Abra Group, the majority investor in Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. and Avianca Group International Limited, on the Cayman Islands legal aspects of two private refinancing transactions for up to $1.25 billion in total. These transactions comprised a new senior secured term loan credit facility with an aggregate principal amount of $740 million provided by a consortium of investors led by Castlelake, L.P and a private placement of $510 million in aggregate principal amount of senior secured notes due 2029.

The Campbells LLP legal team was led by finance partner Edward Rhind and senior associate Sayak Bhattacharya with support from restructuring partner Mark Goodman and finance associate Shawnalee Henry. The Abra Group was represented by Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz as US counsel and Slaughter and May as English counsel.
