Overview

Yuan is an associate in our Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring group. Her practice spans a broad range of general and commercial litigation matters, including company law, corporate insolvency and claims in contract and equity.

Yuan began her career at a premier law firm in New Zealand. She has represented a variety of corporate clients, including NZX listed companies, property developers, financiers, high net worth individuals and private equity funds. Prior to joining Campbells, Yuan was an associate at another Cayman Islands law firm.

  • Acted for a property developer and his related entities in High Court proceedings to defend against a complex $100 million claim for breach of fiduciary duties, knowing receipt and misrepresentation.
  • Acted for the registered proprietors in High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings to oppose an application to sustain caveats.
  • Acted for a national retailer in Re Farmers Trading Co Limited [2019] NZHC 2987 to successfully obtain orders under the Trustee Act 1956 to vest trust assets into an incorporated society.
  • Acted for an equitable assignee in winding up proceedings against a Fund in respect of unpaid share redemptions.
  • Acted for the Litigation Steering Committee to defend against just and equitable winding up proceedings.
