For more than five decades, Campbells has played a defining role in the development of the Cayman Islands legal landscape. That role directly shapes the training environment we offer today; one grounded in rigorous standards, practical experience, and close mentorship from teams of lawyers who are leaders in their fields. Our 18-month Articles Programme provides a clearly defined professional apprenticeship with our Cayman Islands legal practice for Caymanians who are ready to transition from academic study into legal practice.

Our Articles Programme has been re-designed from the ground up for those who intend to shape the future of the profession. From the outset, trainees will be entrusted with real responsibility, exposed to complex, high-quality work, and supported in developing the judgment, discipline, and professionalism expected of Cayman Islands attorneys. You’ll be built to deliver and trusted to perform as a part of a team that has depth and strength rotating across a mixture of the firm’s practice areas:

  • Contentious (Arbitration & Mediation, Fraud Litigation & Asset Recovery, Insolvency, Trusts, Professional Liability); and
  • Non-Contentious (Funds & Investment Management, Shipping & Aviation, Banking & Structured Finance, Corporate & Commercial, Corporate Restructuring, Real Estate & Local Practice, Blockchain & FinTech, Family Office & Private Capital, Insurance & Reinsurance; and Regulation).

Who and How to Apply

This programme is designed for driven Caymanian graduates and aspiring lawyers who are serious about building a long-term legal career in the Cayman Islands and working in a high-performing professional team. We are looking for candidates with a strong academic foundation in law, typically evidenced by a 2:1 or higher in an LLB or Graduate Diploma in Law, and a clear, genuine commitment to qualifying and practising as Cayman Islands attorneys.

Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, the Professional Practice Course, the Legal Practice Course, the Bar Professional Training Course, or the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Assessments 1 & 2.
