Overview

Matheo Vinciullo is an associate in our Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring group. He specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with particular experience in corporations law, corporate restructuring and insolvency, personal property securities related matters, and equity and trusts.

Matheo began his legal career in 2017 as the Research Associate to the Hon. Justice Banks-Smith. He was subsequently the Principal Associate to former Chief Justice Wayne Martin AC KC. Prior to joining Campbells, Matheo was a solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons in Perth, Western Australia.

Matheo has a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Australia and an ARITA Advanced Certification (Advanced Insolvency) from the University of Technology Sydney. He also has a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) with First Class Honours from Murdoch University.

Work Highlights

(Prior to joining Campbells)

  • Advising the voluntary administrators of the Clough Group in a large and complex administration featuring Western Australia’s oldest engineering and construction firm. Successfully restructured and sold the Australian Clough business to global construction player Webuild, ultimately saving over 1000 jobs and securing a future for various projects critical to Australia’s energy infrastructure.
  • Advising the voluntary administrators of Probuild in a large and complex administration featuring Australia’s largest construction company. Successfully implemented a recapitalisation plan that ultimately preserved $2b of construction contracts, created more than $270m in value, and saved over 475 jobs.
  • Settled three Supreme Court proceedings concerning the management and administration of two corporate trustees whose interests were intertwined with a large corporate group involved in property development and agri-business valued at over $100M.

Client Advisories

  • The Port Fund: supervision application dismissed in favour of continuing receivership.
    In a judgment delivered on 6 October 2023, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands dismissed an application by the joint voluntary liquidators of Port Link GP Ltd pursuant to section 124(1) of the Companies Act (2023 Revision) for an order that the liquidation continue under the supervision of the Court, and determined that receivers previously appointed to have conduct of litigation to which Port Link is a party should remain in office in that capacity.
