About

Edward is a partner in our Corporate Department and advises on matters of Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands law. He has a broad range of experience in asset and structured finance (including CLOs) and advises on all types of structures for commercial shipping and aviation assets as well as for superyachts and private jets. Ed is also regularly engaged to provide Cayman and BVI advice on general banking, capital markets and M&A transactions across a wide range of industry areas.

Ed has been based in Asia, Europe and the Americas and acts for banks, multinational corporates, lessors, funds, private equity, family offices and vessel/aircraft owners.

  • Work highlights

    (Prior to joining Campbells)

    • Acted for the Swiss branch of a US Bank in connection with a $114 million yacht financing.
    • Advised on the establishment of an aviation leasing platform formed as a JV between a US investment fund and an Irish/US asset manager, its $1 billion loan facility and ongoing related work in connection with tax driven platform structuring and aircraft leasing arrangements.
    • Assisted a European bank in connection with a $100 million facility for five bulk carrier vessels.
    • Assisted a US airline on a $6.8 billion financing plan consisting of a bond offering and concurrent term loan collateralised by airline loyalty program revenue.
    • Acted for a US financier in connection with the financing and Cayman temporary registration aspects of a Gulfstream G550.
    • Advised a US investment fund on a first of a kind aircraft loan securitisation transaction featuring the issue of $893.5 million notes.
    • Acted for an aircraft lessor with respect to the up to $2 billion order of 500 VA-X4 eVTOL aircraft.
    • Advised a top tier CLO manager ($25+ billion AUM) on its Cayman warehouses and CLO issuances and, in conjunction with Jersey legal counsel, on its first Jersey law CLO issuance.
