Paralegal, Litigation – Cayman Islands

Campbells is seeking to recruit a Paralegal whose principal focus
will be supporting a Senior Attorney with the firm’s debt recovery
practice. The role will involve serving as a point of contact for
banks and stratas seeking to recover secured and unsecured
debts. This role will also support other areas of the practice so
the successful candidate must be able to multi-task, and to work
independently and under pressure.

Duties will include:

  • Communicating with debtors and defendants
  • Managing multiple cases (mainly debt recovery and other
    smaller matters) and ensuring proper case management
    procedures are in place
  • Drafting court documents (e.g. affidavits / applications /
    orders / summons) and preparing correspondence
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Updating clients and taking instructions
  • Preparing engagement letters and file opening

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a law degree (additional financial related /
    accounting and project management qualifications are
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
    dealing with clients and debtors
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and case
    management skills
  • Be familiar with court procedures
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate initiative, strong analytical and
    prioritisation skills, and the ability to organise a large
    workload and meet deadlines
  • Pay exceptional attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

Campbells offers an attractive remuneration package, and
the successful candidate can expect to earn CI$50,000
to CI$70,000 per annum dependent on experience and
qualifications, plus statutory benefits as required by law.
